Master of Agribusiness

Southeast Asia Cohort

K-State’s Master of Agribusiness award-winning, distance education graduate degree program that focuses on food and agribusiness management has launched a Southeast Asian version of the program. The “on-campus” portions of the program are held in Southeast Asia in August and October and the curriculum has been adapted to Southeast Asia’s business environment.

Why add an international campus location?
Interest in the MAB program from those outside the United States has continued to grow. Many agribusiness professionals, entrepreneurs, and government employees have expressed a desire to obtain a masters degree to equip them with business and economic skills and an increased understanding of the food and agribusiness system on a global scale. They understand the need for quality education and admire the reputation that Kansas State University and the Master of Agribusiness program share. However, many international students have difficulty participating in a U.S. program due to U.S. visa issues and the time needed for traveling to the U.S. for on-campus sessions.

Bringing an established distance, master’s degree program to Southeast Asia provides those working in the area the opportunity to earn an advanced degree in agribusiness. Greater knowledge of business and economic systems will further enhance potential international business connections.

Tim Loh

"Having worked commercially in shipping and agricultural commodities trading in Southeast Asia for more than 15 years, I wanted to upgrade my knowledge and skills in agribusiness when I learned of K-State's MAB program. The comprehensive curriculum and structure of learning offered a good balance between work and study. The highly relevant and up-to-date subjects introduced in the MAB program complemented nicely the work that I was doing for the American Soybean Association International Marketing for Southeast Asia. The MAB program has given me a strong foundation upon which to build my marketing practice, as well as honed my ability to think and communicate on a wide range of subjects that concern the agriculture industry."
