Master of Agribusiness

Industry Focus

The MAB was designed specifically for working professionals. During the development of the Master of Agribusiness program, industry leaders provided key input on the skills and abilities their employees need to be successful. This input was a critical step in laying the groundwork for course development.

To continue this important input, the MAB Industry Advisory Board meets regularly to counsel the department on the ongoing development of the program. The board provides valuable input on focusing the program strategically, and stays abreast of emerging issues that should be addressed in the program. The broad industry representation of the board ensures that the program appeals to a wide range of food and agribusiness professionals.

The MAB program also brings in members of the industry to speak to students during campus sessions, further allowing exposure to current industry topics and events.

During each campus session, students are exposed to two or three industry professionals. Topics of discussion range from ethics to risk management and globalization of the food industry to the food, fuel and fiber debate.

MAB students are employed in all sectors of the food and agribusiness industry. Below is a short list of some of the companies our students and alumni are employed by while they pursue their Master of Agribusiness degree:

"KSU is one of Cargill's 'core' universities, which means it is one of few select universities we have chosen to support because their graduates have proven to be bright, talented, possess a strong work ethic, and have a solid background in their fields of study. I've been involved in the MAB Industry Advisory Board because I view this program as an integral 'option' for many Cargill employees to use to develop additional skills in the areas of economics, marketing and business management within the field of agriculture, food and feed processing in which Cargill is involved."
