Admission Requirements

Admission and Application

Applications must be received by October 15 (September 15 for international students) for the Spring start date or June 1 (April 15 for international students) for the Fall start date, but earlier submissions are strongly encouraged due to limited spaces available. Admission into the Master of Agribusiness program requires:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Two years of professional work experience
  • Personal computer proficiency
  • Undergraduate courses in:
    • Accounting
    • Statistics or genetics
    • Macroeconomics, Microeconomics or agricultural economics

Applicants without all the required courses may be admitted on a provisional basis with the understanding that deficiencies will be made up in appropriate undergraduate courses.

Applicants who have a lower than required grade point average may be required to take the GMAT or GRE. If admitted, admission status will be probationary until the first nine credit hours of study are satisfactorily completed.

International Applicants whose primary language is not English

For admission purposes, English proficiency test scores are required if English is not your native language and you are not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Specific countries exempt from this requirement are listed here. Valid scores accepted are TOEFL (K-State TOEFL school code 6334), PTE, and IELTS. We do not accept ‘Duo Lingo’ or TOEFL IPT. If you received a U.S. degree from an accredited U.S. university, English proficiency test scores are not required.

English Score Requirements

    • IBT TOEFL (Internet Based) = 79
    • IELTS = 6.5
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) = 58

Recommendations for admission are made by the Department to the Graduate School. The decision to admit a student is made by the Graduate School.
